Michael F. Burgess, Managing Member of Prosperity International LLC, has over 45 years experience in the development, financing and construction of projects worldwide including hotel and casino resorts, residential and industrial communities, retail and commercial buildings, port and marina facilities, hospitals, mixed use real estate, paper mills, iron & steel mills, breweries, affordable housing and manufactured housing communities.

Michael began his construction career with Grinaker Construction in Durban, Kwazulu South Africa. Here he gained a wealth of experience in large concrete related projects and moved on to establish his own design, build and development company, Burgess Moll & Woodcock. This company grew to a staff of 195 professional and technical personnel in five locations with established associations in the United Kingdom and the United States. Michael performed duties in many facets including: liaison between clients and Government bodies; development of new business; preparation of feasibility studies to site selection; and complete planning, design, administration, funding and construction management for large projects.

Michael emigrated from South Africa in 1986 and after spending a year in Tahiti, joined Divi Hotels as Project Director in the Caribbean. Michael was accountable for the Construction Management of 13 hotel related projects on nine different Caribbean islands, all with their own unique challenges and with a construction budget in excess of $100 million US Dollars. These projects ranged from the construction of new hotel rooms, renovation of existing hotel rooms, restaurants and public facilities, construction of new time share properties, expansion of casino facilities and the installation of new reverse osmosis water plants and waste water treatment facilities.

Michael then joined Holiday Development Limited in the Bahamas and Turks and Caicos islands as Managing Director, where he constructed hotels and resorts, numerous school projects for the government of the Bahamas, houses, office and condominium projects.

Michael then re-located to Atlanta, Georgia and was engaged by The Thompson Engineering Group followed by the Winter Construction where he worked on several hotels, residential and commercial projects as well as the ongoing renovation of the State Capital building.

Michael has settled in Orlando, Florida and continues to develop and finance resort projects in the Caribbean region and other strategic locations. Michael believes that success on any construction or development project depends on carefully selecting the right mix of services and construction expertise in the project team.

As a seasoned developer and financier, Michael has been involved in the development of over 3,000 condominium and hospitality units in various locations worldwide. Coupled with this experience, he brings the necessary ingredients to manage and maintain a successful project in any location. His work in the company is focused in the South Eastern region of the United States, the Caribbean, Latin America and Western Europe.
